BEHIND THE LENS

    Hello, and thank you for stopping by my neck of the web.  My name is Krystal Carlson (not moon).  I’m a mother of five kids, and proud wife to a veteran.  I moved from Texas to Minnesota when my husband retired from the military.

     

    I started my journey as a photographer when my fifth child was born.  I had never thought about doing photography professionally, but I looked at all my children and realized that I didn’t have photos that captured all of life’s precious moments. It was then, that I started to pick up my camera and document every real life moment with my children. From smiles and laughter, to every moment in between, I wanted to remember each memory and not miss any of it!! That’s when I began to immerse myself in studying photography and learning the art of it.  I have enjoyed every waking moment of my studies- even at 2 am when all the kids were sleeping.  I learned a hard work ethic from my late grandmother; she always said “you work hard for what you want to achieve”.  I’ve made sure to follow her advice these past few years, working hard to better my skills. I didn’t want the fake smiles to translate into my photos, so I chose to specialize in lifestyle photography and a documentary style that tells a story.  I want to capture your special, true-to-life moments in a way that you will cherish for a lifetime!  Every moment is precious, and I want to preserve them for your family.  I will embrace your family’s photos with care and love, as I embrace my own.  From fine art and engagements to children and pets, I’ve done it all.

     

    I strive for quality work at an affordable price for all, no matter the situation.  Being a single parent previously, I couldn’t afford professional quality photos, so I want to make it possible for everyone to get beautiful photos and preserve their memories, regardless of their life’s current financial circumstances.  Please contact me with any questions you may have.  Also, ask about discounts for members of the military and parents of multiples.     I would like to give a special thanks to my outstanding husband, who has supported me through this amazing journey. Without him, I would have never had the resources to pursue my passion.  I’d also like to give special recognition to my kids, who have worked as my models for the past few years; without all five of them, I couldn’t have grown and perfected my skills.  Also, I have to give a huge thanks to my loyal clients who keep coming back.  Thank you all so much!
